Each time a memory is accessed, it is distorted in some way by the mind. In this way, I have altered the original to represent this lack of objective reality in the mind of rememberer. The print of this “mis-memory” is an indexical recording of an altered original, much like the memory one might pull from the mental recesses of the subconscious. The block for this relief print was created from a crosscut of a strong red oak tree cut into seven pieces and rearranged, suggesting the impossibility of recalling an objective reality.
