Processed woods artificially compress different wood pieces together into one, creating beautiful and often chaotic patterns. In this way, processed woods like OSB, or oriented strand board, represent a departure from the individual experience and instead a culmination of memories, experiences and origins. I explore my own memories through wood-derived material which I have altered through printmaking and writing. I have used my own prints on paper, personal writings and recycled wood material to create a series of “papers” that represent this compression of past experience.
